New Roof & Chimney | Tunbridge Wells

Project Overview:

We were tasked with carrying out a full roof replacement and chimney restoration on a semi-detached property in Tunbridge Wells. The existing roof had aged significantly, and the chimney was beginning to show signs of structural wear. Our team delivered a complete overhaul, installing a new tile roof with upgraded underlay and battens, while also rebuilding the chimney from scratch with precision brickwork and lead flashing.

Scope of Work:

Roof Strip-Out & Structural Check:
- All existing roof tiles, battens, and felt were carefully stripped back, exposing the rafters. The structure was thoroughly checked to ensure it was sound for the new installation.
Felt & Batten Installation:
- We installed Permavent APEX breathable membrane across the roof to enhance ventilation and waterproofing. New treated battens were laid out with precision to prepare for tile installation.
New Tile Roofing:
- The new red concrete roof tiles were installed neatly across the roof, transforming the visual appeal while adding long-lasting protection from the elements.
Chimney Rebuild & Leadwork:
- The original brick chimney was dismantled and rebuilt with fresh, high-quality brickwork. We also installed new lead flashing to ensure the chimney was properly sealed and weather-resistant.
Finishing & Clean-Up:
- The final touches included cutting tiles to fit snugly around the dormer window, applying ridge and verge finishing, and cleaning the site thoroughly upon completion.
