Project Overview:
This project in Maidstone involved a full roof replacement alongside essential chimney repairs to restore both the performance and appearance of the property. The existing roof had begun to deteriorate, with ageing felt, worn battens, and failing mortar around the chimney allowing potential water ingress.
Our team carried out a complete strip and re-roof, installing new felt, battens, and tiles, while also repointing the chimney and renewing the leadwork for long-term protection.

Full Roof Strip & Preparation
We started by removing the existing tiles and stripping the roof back to the structure. This allowed us to assess the condition of the roof and prepare it properly for a long-lasting installation.
New Felt & Battens Installed
A breathable roofing felt was installed across the roof to act as a secondary waterproof barrier, protecting against wind-driven rain and moisture .
New treated timber battens were then fitted to create a solid fixing grid for the tiles, ensuring correct spacing and alignment across the entire roof .
Tile Installation
Fresh roof tiles were installed evenly across the roof, giving the property a clean, uniform finish while improving durability and weather resistance.
Chimney Repointing
The chimney stack was carefully repointed, removing all failing mortar and replacing it with new, strong joints. This restores the structural integrity of the chimney and prevents water penetration, which is a common issue when mortar begins to break down .
Lead Flashing Installation
New leadwork was fitted around the base of the chimney, ensuring a watertight seal where the roof meets the brickwork. Proper flashing is essential at these junctions to prevent leaks and direct water safely away from the structure .
