Project Details:

1. Roof Strip & Assessment 
   • The existing roof was carefully stripped down to expose the rafters, removing all old tiles, battens and felt. During this stage, we inspected the timberwork to ensure it was structurally sound before proceeding.
2. Rafter Repairs & Preparation  
   • Several joints were reinforced to provide a strong and level base for the new installation. Any weakened timber was replaced to guarantee long-term durability. 
3. Felt & Batten Installation
   • A new layer of Permavent breathable roofing felt was fitted across the roof, offering superior protection against water ingress while allowing ventilation to prevent condensation buildup. Pressure-treated roofing battens were then installed over the felt, accurately measured and fixed to ensure  consistent tile spacing and a secure hold.
4. Slate Tile Installation
   • Premium-grade slate tiles were laid with precision, blending seamlessly with the traditional style of the surrounding buildings. Each tile was fixed to withstand wind uplift and ensure a watertight seal.
5. Leadwork & Detailing 
   • New lead flashing was installed around the dormer windows, chimneys, and valley sections to provide watertight junctions and maintain a neat, professional finish.
6. Final Inspection & Clean-Up
   • Once complete, the roof was thoroughly inspected for alignment, fixings, and finish quality. The entire site was then cleaned and cleared, leaving the property spotless and ready for years of protection.
