Our team recently completed a comprehensive roof replacement on a family home in Tonbridge, Kent, where the existing roof had become worn and weather-damaged over the years. The property required a full re-roof to improve both its performance and appearance, ensuring lasting protection against the elements.
Project Details:
- Old Roof Removal & Assessment
- The first stage involved removing the old roof covering, underlay, and battens to expose the structure beneath. Once cleared, our roofers carried out a detailed inspection of the rafters and timbers, replacing any weakened sections to restore structural integrity.
- New Felt & Batten Installation
- We installed a high-grade DuPont Tyvek Spro breathable membrane, providing outstanding water resistance while allowing ventilation. Treated timber battens were then fixed securely in place, ready for the new tiles to be laid.
- Flat Roof Reinforcement
- This project also included refurbishing the adjoining flat roof section. We replaced the old covering with a durable felt system, applied with precision to deliver a smooth, watertight finish that seamlessly joins the pitched roof area.
- Tiling & Finishing Touches
- The new roof was finished using modern brown concrete tiles, chosen to blend perfectly with the property’s existing features. We also renewed the ridge system and installed lead flashings around the dormer windows for extra weatherproofing.
